Sulfur Roles
Sulfur is found in all cells as part of the sulfur containing amino acides. It helps to keep the hair, skin, and nails healthy. Some of its functions include playing a role in the oxidation-reduction process, synthesizing collagen, treating various forms of metal poisoning, and treating psoriasis, dermatitis, and eczema.
Sulfur Foods
The amount of sulfur present in plant sources depends on the sulfur density of the soil it was grown in. Common plant sources include beans, fish, and wheat germ. Common animal sources include eggs, milk, poultry, beef, and fish.
Sulfur Deficiency
Deficiency symptoms include dermatitis, and brittle hair and nail.
